Mango launches urban essentials: key garments, timeless silhouettes and superior quality for a wardrobe that goes beyond a single season

  • The models Kaya Wilkins, Oumie Jammeh and Kit Butler, members of the Mango community, are the stars of this new campaign

Mango launches the new Urban Essentials campaign, which presents a contemporary collection made up of key garments for your wardrobe. Less formal and versatile garments with a twist that suit various occasions. The timeless silhouettes and better quality of the fabrics mean that the designs in this offering can go beyond a single season.

The campaign captures the models Kaya Wilkins, Oumie Jammeh and Kit Butler in city streets. They present the garments with their unique and contemporary style, showing how they adapt to different urban situations. The three models have been part of the MANGO community for several seasons now, having participated in campaigns such as Shared Moments AW19 and SS20, Intimate Dinner 2019 and Life in Bloom 2020. The mere fact of working with them once again reinforces the values of being together, trust, close ties and community that characterise the brand.

The collection is full of urban and streetwear silhouettes for the MANGO woman, who is genuine, independent, active and feminine. Its timeless and contemporary style is constructed through garments with more informal finishes. Capturing today’s concept of femininity, the collection has been created for a modern woman who feels secure and reflects her personality in the way she dresses. The volumes in fabrics such as knitwear and the different lengths of layered garments add an on-trend air, without sacrificing comfort. Uncoordinating the outfit is key: combining tight jeans with suit jackets or wide-leg trousers with an oversized coat. Poplin, knitwear garments and structured coats also feature in the layering of textures. Herringbone, Prince of Wales check, tweed, bouclé... Classic woollen fabrics predominate in short and collarless jackets, as well as in longer and wider coats: a good texture elevates style. Highlights include neutral and discreet tones, such as grey and white, without prints, giving the outfit a minimalist air. Sneakers and low-heeled shoes are the star accessories, while other accessories, such as a belt or some boots, help break the rules and add personality.

The menswear offering is aimed at the professional, culturally curious, contemporary, cosmopolitan and eco-conscious man who appreciates good quality in garments and their fabrics. The sophisticated style of the designs presents tight-fitting silhouettes. Coats, such as the oversized trench coat or the corduroy trucker and leather garments, take centre stage. The collection also includes a more relaxed tailored and shirt section, with the Slim suit and poplin and satin shirts. Roll-neck sweaters in black and white are an essential layer this season. Black, dark grey, camel and ecru make up the colour palette. Highlighted among the prints is English check, while houndstooth check is a key texture.
