Mango celebrates the opening of its new flagship store in Oxford Street

    Mango celebrated the opening of the flagship store that opened in London’s busy Oxford Street with an exclusive event at the Serpentine North Gallery. The brand counted on some of the top celebrities from the Spanish and international fashion industry, including Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Poppy Delevingne, Gala Gordon, Sofia Sanchez de Betak, Pandora Sykes and Julia Sarr-Jamois, among others. It was also attended by the Mango Girls Blanca Miró, Veronika Heilbrunner, Claire Thomson-Jonville and the Mango Men Andrea Faccio and Miguel Carrizo.

    The new Oxford Street store has a selling space of 1,400 m2 and stocks the Woman, Man and Kids lines. The new Mediterranean store concept, implemented in the brand’s other international flagship stores, aims to inspire customers through elements with a Mediterranean character, such as warmth and naturalness. As well as improving the distribution of the collections and the store layout, the aim of the store is not only to display the brand’s latest collections, but also become a centre that brings the Mediterranean experience and culture closer to its customers, allowing them to participate in the way of life that characterises Mango, by inviting them to enjoy and be a part of it.

    For the opening event, at the Serpentine North Gallery, the brand’s forthcoming collections were displayed. Key items among the women’s garments include shiny dresses, fur-effect coats, the use of sequins and fringes, and accents in different shades of green. In addition to more festive garments, more urban 70s-inspired proposals were presented with a colour palette ranging from green to pink, red and brown with a denim base. As for accessories, boots, ankle boots, square-toes and sandals take centre stage to accompany every silhouette.

    In the men’s line, both party and casual collections were presented, thus representing all types of requirements. Leather details feature in trousers and overshirts as well as warmer garments, such as knitwear or shearling-effect jackets, for more versatile garments.

    During the event, the gallery exhibited a series of photographs taken for the brand by the acclaimed artist Txema Yeste featuring evocative scenes of Mediterranean lifestyle.  Marem Ladson enlivened the evening with a performance, while the meal was prepared by Cellar Society, which featured tablecloths and cutlery produced by the artist Christabel Macgreevy.
